ArgoFirst Living-Learning Community

Research shows that students who participate in a Living Learning Community have higher academic success rates, higher college graduation rates, higher levels of satisfaction with their college experience, and an easier time connecting with their peers. 学生 are accepted into the ArgoFirst community by invitation only. The ArgoFirst Living Learning Community is designed to celebrate and support the specific needs and interests of first-year students at the ag娱乐官网. 学生 in this community benefit from community building, 学术支持, 指导, and leadership opportunities. Supported by full-time professional and peer 学术支持人员 who work collaboratively with 教师, 工作人员, 和居民, together this team integrates both professional and personal interests to enhance the academic and social experience during the first year.

Our priority is to provide students with resources and programs that will strengthen their academic performance and improve their college experience at the ag娱乐官网. Programming will be designed to strengthen academic success, 自我意识, 和自我效能感, build professional relationships, and develop lifelong habits that foster wellbeing. The skills and strategies mastered in this community will lead to academic success while at UWF and preparation for life beyond college.

Community Member Responsibilities and Obligations

1. Live on the designated ArgoFirst floor of Martin Hall and agree to support the overall goals of the ArgoFirst Living Learning Community
2. Attend the ArgoFirst Welcome Session, which includes attendance at the New Student Convocation. 因为这个事件是必需的, all members will plan moving, 旅行, and other activity schedules accordingly in order to attend.
3. Participation in community activities and events offered Fall and Spring semesters (workshops, 有组织的学习时间, 健康的活动, 领导和指导, 等.) - expected time commitment is about 1 hour/week on average, and most events will be scheduled within the residence hall.
